Luminex Multiplex Immunoassays

What is a Luminex Bead-Based Multiplex Immunoassay?

Magnetic Luminex beads are internally dyed to give a distinct spectral signature or bead region. These beads are coated with analyte-specific antibodies where each bead region corresponds to a target analyte. Up to 50 different bead regions are mixed and incubated with the sample to capture analytes.  After capture, a cocktail of biotinylated detection antibodies and a streptavidin-phycoerythrin conjugate is used to detect and quantify.
