Detection of mGLUR2 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human mGLUR2 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry.
HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with (A) human mGLUR2 or (B) irrelevant protein and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human mGLUR2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB46762) followed by APC-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # F0101B). Quadrant markers were set based on control antibody staining (Catalog # MAB002). View our protocol for Staining Membrane-associated Proteins.mGluR2 in Rat Brain.
mGluR2 was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of rat brain (cerebellum) using Mouse Anti-Human mGluR2 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB46762) at 8 µg/mL for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (NL007). Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (CTS013). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to cell surface of neurons in granular cell layer. Staining was performed using our protocol for Fluorescent IHC Staining of Paraffin-embedded Tissue Sections.Applications for Human mGluR2 Antibody

Background: mGluR2
Metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGluR2) is an 872 aa, predicted 96 kDa multipass G protein coupled inhibitory receptor belonging to group II of the metabotropic glutamate receptor family. It is localized largely on the presynaptic side of glutamatergic and other neurotransmitter synapses in areas of the forebrain. mGluR2 activity is potentially involved in some anxiety disorders. The long N‑terminal extracellular region of human mGluR2 (aa 1‑498) shares 97% aa identity with either mouse or rat mGluR2.
