Connexin 43/GJA1: Small Molecules and Peptides
Connexin 43 is a 43 kDa member of the alpha-type subfamily within the connexin family of transmembrane proteins. It is the most common type of connexin in cardiac muscle cells, and also occurs in hepatocytes, astrocytes and ovary granulosa cells. Human and rat Cx43 are 98% aa identical over the entire length of the molecule.
