Product Specifications

Immunogen

E. coli-derived recombinant human NRG1-beta 1/HRG1-beta 1
Ser2-Lys246
Accession # AAA58639

Specificity

Detects human NRG1-beta 1 in ELISAs. Recognizes an epitope found in the EGF-like domain of NRG1‑ beta1 (amino acids 179‑246). It also detects recombinant human SMDF (Sensory and Motor neuron-Derived Factor), but it does not recognize the EGF-like domain of human NRG1-alpha (amino acids 177‑241). The epitope is present within amino acids 213‑230 of human NRG1-beta 1. This segment is present in all NRG1 beta isoforms, GGF‑2 (glial growth factor), and SMDF, but it is absent from NRG1-alpha, NDF43, and NRG1-gamma.

Description

CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(TM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Neuregulin-1 beta 1/NRG1 beta 1 Antibody (147705) [CoraFluor™ 1]

Product Feature: CoraFluor Probes for TR-FRET

CoraFluor™ 1, amine reactive (Catalog:7920) and CoraFluor™ 2, amine reactive (Catalog # 7950) are terbium-based probes that have been developed for use as TR-FRET donors. They emit wavelengths compatible with commonly used fluorescent acceptor dyes such as BODIPY® (or BDY) and Janelia Fluor® dyes, FITC (Catalog # 5440), TMR and Cyanine 5 (Catalog # 5436). CoraFluor™ fluorescence is brighter and more stable in biological media than existing TR-FRET donors, leading to enhanced sensitivity and improved data generation. CoraFluor™ 1 exhibits excitation upon exposure to a 337 nm UV laser.

Background: Neuregulin-1 beta 1/NRG1 beta 1

Neuregulin-1 beta 1/NRG1 beta 1 is one of many soluble and transmembrane NRG1 isoforms. All family members share an EGF-like domain that interacts with the ErbB family of tyrosine kinase receptors. NRG1 isoforms can be classified into type I (neu differentiation factor, NDF; heregulin, HRG; acetylcholine receptor inducing activity, ARIA), type II (glial growth factor, GGF) and type III (sensory and motor neuron-derived factor, SMDF) isoforms. NRG1 regulates multiple nervous system functions including neurotransmitter expression, axon guidance, synapse formation and plasticity, glial cell development, and axon myelination. It regulates heart morphogenesis and contractility and also plays a cardioprotective role following tissue injury. Multiple polymorphisms and aberrant expression of NRG1 isoforms are associated with the development of schizophrenia and many cancers.
