Specificity
Detects human CXCL12/SDF‑1 beta in direct ELISAs and Western blots. Neutralizes 60‑80% of the biological activity of CXCL12/SDF-1 beta and does not neutralize the biological activity of SDF‑1 alpha. In Western blots, less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human SDF-1 alpha is observed.

Description
CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(TM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background: CXCL12/SDF-1 beta
CXCL12 is a heparin-binding chemokine that regulates lymphopoiesis, enhances the survival of myeloid progenitor cells, regulates the patterning and cell number of neural progenitors, and promotes angiogenesis. CXCL12/SDF-1 beta is one of several SDF-1 isoforms, all of which can undergo proteolytic processing of the first two N-terminal amino acids by DPPIV/CD26. SDF-1 isoforms signal through CXCR4 and CXCR7 and can also bind Syndecan-4. Their binding to CXCR4 may block the cellular entry of HIV.
