Tie-2, also known as Tek, is a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that functions as a receptor for Angiopoietin family proteins. It is expressed by embryonic and adult endothelial cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and a circulating population of proangiogenic monocytes.
