Thermolysin: Proteins and Enzymes
Thermolysin is a thermostable zinc metalloprotease isolated from Bacillis thermoproteolyticus. The activity of the metalloprotease can be inhibited by phosphoramidon, 1,10-phenanthroline or EDTA. Thermolysin may be used to activate several enzymes including: ADAM8, Enterokinase, Factor VII , Factor XI, HGF Activator, Kallikreins, Mast Cell Protease-1, Thrombin, Tryptase-5, and Tryptase epsilon.
