Acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1) is a biotin dependent lipogenic enzyme that is highly expressed during adipogenesis. ACC1 catalyzes acetyl-CoA carboxylation, producing malonyl-CoA, a metabolite involved in energy homeostasis regulation.
