ABCG2: Small Molecules and Peptides
ATP-binding cassette transporter ABCG2, also known as MXR, BCRP, or ABCP, is an efflux protein that plays a role in host detoxification of various xenobiotic substrates. It is expressed in the liver, intestine, placenta, and blood brain barrier. Hematopoietic stem cells have also been shown to express ABCG2, with levels falling as the cells become CD34+.
