Eplerenone is a selective mineralocorticoid (aldosterone) receptor antagonist (IC₅₀ = 360 nM). Displays > 27-fold selectivity over androgen, progesterone and estrogen receptors (IC₅₀ > 10 μM). Orally active antihypertensive in vivo.
