Description
The stop solution changes color from blue to yellow and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm using a spectrophotometer. In order to measure the concentration of Human Ephrin-B2 in the sample, this Human Ephrin-B2 ELISA Kit includes a set of calibration standards. The calibration standards are assayed at the same time as the samples and allow the operator to produce a standard curve of optical density versus Human Ephrin-B2 concentration. The concentration of the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Background: Ephrin-B2
Ephrins are naturally divided into two structural groups. All ligands share a conserved extracellular sequence, which most likely corresponds to the receptor-binding domain. This conserved sequence consists of approximately 125 amino acids and includes four invariant cysteines. The B-class ligands are transmembrane proteins, which can be tyrosine phosphorylated upon receptor ligation. Class B ephrins show 33% amino acid sequence identity in their extracellular segments and 44% amino acid sequence identity in their cytoplasmic regions.
