Background: CCL26-like/Eotaxin-3-like

Chemokine (CC motif) ligand 26, also known as Eotaxin 3, is a human CC chemokine ligand that binds and signals via the chemokine receptor CCR3. Rat CCL26‑like/Eotaxin 3-like is an 8.5 kDa orthologue of the human CCL26/eotaxin 3. It is a 94 amino acid (aa) residue protein with a 23 aa signal sequence and a 71 aa mature segment. It is presumed that rat CCL26-like/Eotaxin 3-like will bind CCR3 to induce eosinophil chemotaxis and transendothelial migration. Mature rat CCL26 shares 48%, 63%, and 48% aa sequence identity with the human, mouse and canine CCL26/Eotaxin 3, respectively.
