Applications

Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blot

Label

Janelia Fluor 646

Antibody Source

Monoclonal Mouse IgG1 Clone # 179003

Concentration

Please see the vial label for concentration. If unlisted please contact technical services.

Product Specifications

Immunogen

KLH-coupled phospho-tyrosine synthetic peptide

Modification

p Tyr

Specificity

Detects proteins containing phosphorylated tyrosine residues. ELISA and Western blot analyses using pervanadate-treated cell lysates indicate that clone 179003 binds phospho-tyrosine in a broad manner largely independent of the surrounding amino acid sequence. No cross‑reactivity with proteins or peptides containing phosphorylated serine or threonine residues is observed.

Clonality

Monoclonal

Host

Mouse

Isotype

IgG1

Background: Phospho-Tyrosine

Phosphotyrosine is the phosphorylated version of the amino acid tyrosine. Phosphorylation of histidine, serine, threonine and tyrosine residues acts as a signalling system to control many cellular signalling pathways. The cellular networks which rely on these signals can be very complex, so phosphorylation often occurs on multiple sites on a given protein.
