Western Blot:[NBP3-29050]-Detection of human MTUS1 by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-MTUS1 antibody used for WB at 0. 4 µg/ml and 1 µg/ml and used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. MTUS1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-MTUS1 antibody , which recognizes an upstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Background: MTUS1

MTUS1 encodes a protein which contains a C-terminal domain able to interact with the angiotension II (AT2) receptor and a large coiled-coil region allowing dimerization. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. One of the transcript variants has been shown to encode a mitochondrial protein that acts as a tumor suppressor and partcipates in AT2 signaling pathways. Other variants may encode nuclear or transmembrane proteins but it has not been determined whether they also participate in AT2 signaling pathways.
