Background: FABP1/L-FABP
FABP1 (fatty acid binding protein-1; also Liver-type fatty acid binding protein/L-FABP and 14 kDa Selenium-binding protein) is a 14-15 kDa intracellular member of the fatty acid binding protein family, calycin superfamily of molecules. It is expressed by intestinal epithelium and hepatocytes, and is known to bind both cholesterol and long-chain fatty acids in the cytosol. As fatty acids diffuse across the plasma membrane, they are sequestered by FABP1, facilitating fatty acid diffusion into the cell. FABP1 also binds bile acids and cholesterol, and transports cholesterol from one membrane compartment to another. Mouse FABP1 is 127 amino acids (aa) in length. It is a two beta-sheet molecule that contains an acetylated initiating methionine. Full-length mouse FABP1 shares 94% and 84% aa identity with rat and human FABP1, respectively.

Product Specific Notices
This conjugate is made on demand and is not held in inventory. Each order represents a unique lot. All conjugates are generated using validated conjugation protocols and meet strict degree of labeling (F/P) specifications; additional information is available upon request. The antibody concentration is provided on the individual product label.
Recommended applications are based on validated applications from the unconjugated base product AF7009.
For specialized conjugation needs, like large quantities, specific concentrations, and defined F/P ratios, bulk and custom antibody conjugation services are available.
