Background: Fibulin 5/DANCE

DANCE is a secreted glycoprotein with six EGF-like domains. DANCE promotes endothelial cell adhesion through interactions with integrins. It is expressed in developing arteries and neural crest and in adult sites of vascular remodeling. Defects in DANCE function are associated with connective tissue disorders and macular degeneration.
