Specificity

The antibody TSH-51 reacts with human thyroid stimulating hormone (hTSH, thyrotropin), a glycoprotein hormone produced by the anterior pituitary gland cells in response to signals from the hypothalamus gland in the brain. Following cross-reactivity expressed as binding of labelled hormone (% of total) was determined by solid phase RIA with excess of the antibody TSH-51: hTSH (68.6), hCG (0.03), hLH (2.99), hFSH (0.66).
