Product Summary for RFP Antibody

The immunogen is a Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) fusion protein corresponding to the full length amino acid sequence (234aa) derived from the mushroom polyp coral Discosoma. (Uniprot: Q9U6Y8)

Reactivity Notes

Mouse reactivity reported in scientific literature (PMID: 30159312).

RFP Antibody was tested by western blot.

Chicken products cannot be exported to Canada.

RFP Antibody was prepared from egg yolks by a multi-step process which includes filtration, delipidation, salt fractionation and extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above

Store vial at -20C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Applications for RFP Antibody

Recommended Usage

Western Blot

Application Notes
This product is designed to detect recombinant RFP. This product antibody has been tested by ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and western blot to detect RFP. Use either alkaline phosphatase or peroxidase conjugated polyclonal anti-RFP to detect RFP or RFP containing proteins on western blots. Optimal titers for applications should be determined by the researcher. This product shows optimal performance by western blot.

Use in Immunohistochemistry-Whole mount reported in scientific literature (PMID: 30159312).

Use in Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence reported in scientific literature (PMID: 30158698). Use in IHC-P reported in scientific literature (PMID:34389674).
Please Note: Optimal dilutions of this antibody should be experimentally determined.

Background: RFP

Fluorescent proteins have become a useful and ubiquitous tool for making chimeric proteins, where they function as a fluorescent protein tag. Typically they tolerate N- and C-terminal fusion to a broad variety of proteins. They have been expressed in most known cell types and are used as a noninvasive fluorescent marker in living cells and organisms. They enable a wide range of applications where they have functioned as a cell lineage tracer, reporter of gene expression, or as a measure of protein-protein interactions.

Alternate Names

DSRED, GFP-like chromoprotein, Red Fluorescent Protein, RFP
