Background: IARS2

The IARS2 gene encodes a 1,012 amino acid long, 113 kDA isoleucine-tRNA ligase, mitochondrial that participates in gene expression, mitochondrial tRNA aminoacylation and biosynthesis, as well as valine, leucine, and isoleucine biosynthesis. IARS2 has been linked to diabetes mellitus, cardiomyopathy, and pneumonia.
