Spatially Resolve RNA Therapeutic Biodistribution and Efficacy
Powered by Multiomic RNAscope™ ISH Assays
RNA therapeutics are moving beyond the liver, creating a growing need to understand not only whether a therapeutic reaches an organ, but which cells receive it and whether it produces the intended biological effect.
Powered by RNAscope™ technology, Bio-Techne Spatial enables single-cell, spatial analysis of RNA therapeutic biodistribution, cell-type tropism, target engagement, and pharmacodynamic response directly in intact tissue.
Visualize therapeutic RNA alongside target transcripts and cell-type markers to connect where your therapeutic goes with what it does.
Meet us at TIDES Europe to explore how spatial biology can help de-risk your RNA therapeutic development programs.

Spatially Resolving RNA Therapeutics in Heterogeneous Organs: RNAscope to Correlate Biodistribution and Efficacy at Single-Cell Resolution
Wednesday, November 4, 2026
12:50–1:10 PM
RNA therapeutics are advancing rapidly, but effective development requires understanding not only whether a therapeutic reaches a tissue, but which cells receive it and whether it produces the intended biological effect.
Discover how RNAscope enables spatial, single-cell analysis of RNA therapeutic biodistribution, target engagement, and pharmacodynamic response alongside cell-type and efficacy markers. Applications will include siRNA, antisense oligonucleotides, and mRNA-LNPs.
From Visualizing Biodistribution to Measuring Safety and Efficacy Spatially at Single-Cell Resolution
Bulk assays can quantify how much therapeutic RNA is present in a tissue, but they cannot show which cells received it or whether target modulation occurred in those same cells.
RNAscope spatial assays help you:
- Map biodistribution: Visualize siRNA, ASO, miRNA, shRNA, and other therapeutic nucleic acids directly in tissue.
- Resolve cell-type tropism: Co-detect therapeutic RNA with RNA or protein markers to identify the cell populations reached.
- Measure efficacy: Assess target mRNA modulation specifically within therapeutic-positive cells.
- Evaluate durability: Compare therapeutic localization and pharmacodynamic effects across time points.
- Assess safety and off-target exposure: Preserve tissue morphology while identifying unintended cellular or tissue distribution.
Connect therapeutic delivery, cell identity, and biological response in the same tissue section to distinguish delivery failure from mechanism failure.
