Background: AMSH-LP
AMSH-like protease (AMSH-LP, also known as STAM-Binding Protein-Like 1, STAMBPL1) is a zinc metalloprotease belonging to the JAMM (JAB1/MPN/Mov34) family of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs). 436 amino acids in length, AMSH-LP is 56% identical and 73% similar to AMSH, an enzyme that functions at the endosome, where it is involved in the sorting of various cell-surface receptors to lysozomes. Like AMSH, AMSH-LP only cleaves K63-linked poly-Ubiquitin chains in vitro; however, unlike AMSH, AMSH-LP does not appear to associate with STAM protein. This recombinant protein is full-length and contains an N-terminal GST tag.
