Immunoprecipitation: Rabbit Capicua pAb [NBP3-30691]

Immunoprecipitation: Rabbit Capicua pAb [NBP3-30691] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg per IP; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CIC/Capicua antibody (NBP3-30691) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. CIC/Capicua was also immunoprecipitated by a second antibody against a different epitope of CIC/Capicua (NB110-59905). For blotting immunoprecipitated CIC/Capicua, A301-204A was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Background: Capicua

CIC, a human homolog of Drosophila capicua, encodes a high mobility group box transcription factor and is fused to a double homeodomain gene DUX4 as a result of a recurrent chromosomal translocation. It is involved in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling, developmental patterning, and cell fate. In humans, CIC may be involved in granule cell lineage, cerebellar development, and medulloblastoma tumorigenesis. Recent evidence indicates that CIC is involved in Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 1 (SCA-1) where it interacts directly with the product of the SCA-1 gene Ataxin-1.
