Specificity

Detects human FGF-9 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) FGF‑4, rhFGF-5, rhFGF-6, rhFGF-7, rhFGF-8, rhFGF-10, rhFGF-17, rhFGF-18, and rhFGF-19 is observed.

Description

CoraFluor(TM) 1 is a high performance terbium-based TR-FRET (Time-Resolved Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer) or TRF (Time-Resolved Fluorescence) donor for high throughput assay development. CoraFluor(TM) 1 absorbs UV light at approximately 340 nm, and emits at approximately 490 nm, 545 nm, 585 nm and 620 nm. It is compatible with common acceptor dyes that absorb at the emission wavelengths of CoraFluor(TM) 1. CoraFluor(TM) 1 can be used for the development of robust and scalable TR-FRET binding assays such as target engagement, ternary complex, protein-protein interaction and protein quantification assays.

Background: FGF-9

The protein encoded by the FGF9 gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possessbroad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, includingembryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein was isolatedas a secreted factor that exhibits a growth-stimulating effect on cultured glial cells. In nervous system, thisprotein is produced mainly by neurons and may be important for glial cell development. Expression of the mouse homologof this gene was found to be dependent on Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. Mice lacking the homolog gene displayed amale-to-female sex reversal phenotype, which suggested a role in testicular embryogenesis. (provided by RefSeq)
