SMURF2: Small Molecules and Peptides
SMURF-2 (SMAD ubiquitin regulatory factor-2) is an approximately 86 kDa, 748 amino acid cytoplasmic E3 ubiquitin ligase that negatively regulates TGF-beta signaling by promoting proteasomal degradation of some SMAD signaling molecules. It also influences cell cycle progression, peaking during mitosis and binding MAD2L1 and NEDD9/CASL.
