Specificity

Detects mouse Lgr5/GPR49 in ELISA. Stains mouse Lgr5 transfected cells but not irrelevant transfectants in Flow Cytometry and Immunocytochemistry. This antibody, also known as "RD20", has been found to detect an epitope in C-terminal LRR cap of LGR5 (Ref. 1).

Product Feature: CoraFluor Probes for TR-FRET

CoraFluor™ 1, amine reactive (Catalog:7920) and CoraFluor™ 2, amine reactive (Catalog # 7950) are terbium-based probes that have been developed for use as TR-FRET donors. They emit wavelengths compatible with commonly used fluorescent acceptor dyes such as BODIPY® (or BDY) and Janelia Fluor® dyes, FITC (Catalog # 5440), TMR and Cyanine 5 (Catalog # 5436). CoraFluor™ fluorescence is brighter and more stable in biological media than existing TR-FRET donors, leading to enhanced sensitivity and improved data generation. CoraFluor™ 1 exhibits excitation upon exposure to a 337 nm UV laser.

Background: Lgr5/GPR49

Leucine-rich repeat-containing LGR5, also known as GPR49, is an Orphan-A G-protein coupled receptor with an unknown ligand. GPR49 is a stem cell marker of the intestinal epithelium and the hair follicule, and is often expressed in the brain, skeletal muscle, placenta, and spinal cord. Because LGR5 is typically found in mouse hair follicles it may potentially be used to regrow hair in mice. GPR49/LGR5 antibodies are useful tools for research on hair loss and hair follicule development.
