Matrilin-2: Proteins and Enzymes
Matrilin proteins comprise a four-member subfamily of the von Willebrand factor A domain-containing protein superfamily. Matrilins are extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins that act as adaptor molecules, linking collagen-containing fibrils to other matrix constituents. Matrilins are widely expressed in cartilage and other forms of ECM. Mutations in human matrilin-3 cause chondrodysplasias and early onset osteoarthritis.
