Background: p38 gamma
p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)gamma, also known as p38 gamma, MAPK12, SAPK3 and ERK6 is a serine/threonine kinase which acts as an essential component of the MAP kinase signal transduction pathway. Plays a role in myoblast differentiation and also in the down-regulation of cyclin D1 in response to hypoxia in adrenal cells.
