Background: Glycogen Phosphorylase BB/GPBB

GPBB is found predominantly in the brain. Glycogen phosphorylase is a key enzyme of glycogenolysis, catalyzing the rate determining step in glycogen degradation. The activity of this enzyme is allosterically activated by AMP and alosterically inhibited by ATP, ADP, and glucose 6 phosphate.
