NMDAR3B: Small Molecules and Peptides

The GRIN3B (NMDAR3B) gene encodes a 1,043 amino acid long, nearly 113 kDA glutamate receptor iontrophic, NMDA 3B that is a glycine controlled receptor that functions in glutamate-gated ion channels with reduced single-channel conductance, calcium, and voltage-sensitivity to magnesium. GRIN3B functions in glutamic acid signaling, the pathogenesis of ALS, the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction, and the dopamine DARPP32 feedback onto cAMP pathway. This gene has been linked to HIV type 1, neuroblastoma, pain syndrome, opiod abuse, immunodeficiency, and alzheimer's disease.
