Dehydrin Products
Dehydrins are a family of proteins that become abundant during dessication in seedlings and embryos of cereal crop plants including barley, corn, wheat and rice. Dehydrin proteins have a highly conserved lysine-rich block found near the carboxy terminus which may be present in one or more copies in the protein. Dehydrins have been observed in a wide range of Angiosperms, and possibly all plants can synthesize dehydrins. The number and size of dehydrins varies widely between species, ranging from 15 to 150 kDa.
