SB 269970 hydrochloride is a potent and selective 5-HT₇ receptor antagonist (pK_i values are 8.9, 7.2 and 6.0 for 5-HT_7A, 5-HT_5A and 5-HT_1B and < 6.0 for 5-HT_1A, 5-HT_1D, 5-HT_1E, 5-HT_1F, 5-HT_2A, 5-HT_2B, 5-HT_2C, 5-HT₄ and 5-HT₆ receptors respectively). Brain penetrant in vivo.
