BaseScope Duplex Assay Enables Same-Slide Detection of Short RNA Targets

Distinguishing closely related RNA variants can be challenging with conventional spatial assays. BaseScope Duplex Fluorescence, a next-generation spatial assay, enables researchers to differentiate highly similar RNA sequences, including splice variants and exon-exon junctions, within the same tissue section, helping uncover transcript-level changes associated with cancer progression and other diseases.
The BaseScope Duplex Fluorescence assay is also compatible with RNAscope™, enabling multiplex detection of short and standard RNA targets within the same section.

  • BaseScope Duplex Fluorescent Assay enables simultaneous detection of up to 2 short RNA targets on a single FFPE tissue section, including specific exon-exon junctions.
  • This workflow can be run either as a manual assay or a fully-automated assay on the Leica platform.
  • This assay can be multiplexed with RNAscope to achieve co-detection of up to 2 short targets and 4 standard RNA targets.
  • Co-detection with cell marker RNA targets enables spatial visualization of variants in specific cell types.
