Skp2: Small Molecules and Peptides

SKP2 (S-phase kinase-associated protein 2) is a 45-47 kDa cyclin A- and CDK2-associated phosphoprotein within the FBXL (F-box/LRR) family of ubiquitin ligases, designated FBXL1. As a component of the SCF (SKP1-Cul1-F-box) complex, SKP2 phosphorylation is required for degradation of CDK inhibitors such as p27/Kip1 and progression from G1 to S phases of the cell cycle. Deregulation in cancer promotes cell cycle progression and cancer growth.
