S 32212 hydrochloride is an inverse agonist of 5-HT_2C receptors (pK_i = 8.18 at human 5-HT_{2C INI} receptors). Also an antagonist of human α₂-adrenoceptors. Displays negligible affinity for α_1A-adrenoceptors, histamine H₁ receptors and muscarinic M₁ receptors.
