BF 2649 hydrochloride is a potent and selective histamine H₃ receptor inverse agonist (EC₅₀ = 1.5 nM, K_i = 0.16 nM). Exhibits nootropic effects in cognitive disorders; reduces locomotor hyperactivity induced by methamphetamine. Brain penetrant.
