NB100-63239 detects the Tetanus Toxin which is produced by the soil micro-organism Clostridium tetani. C. tetaniinfection results in its systemic growth and secretion of tetanus, which causes muscle spasms by inhibiting neurotransmitter release. The antibody also reacts with the C-fragment of tetanus toxin.
