Western blot shows lysates of human uterus tissue and human placenta tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.2 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human PP14/Glycodelin Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF842) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for PP14/Glycodelin at approximately 24-27 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: PP14/Glycodelin

Placenta Protein 14 (PP14, also known as Glycodelin-A) is a 28-kDa glycoprotein that is mainly expressed by late secretory-phase endometrium and first-trimester gestational endometrium. It is present at high levels in amniotic fluid, and in the serum of pregnant women. PP14 has been reported to have immuno- suppressive activity that may play a role in fetal survival during pregnancy.
