Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-HNF1-alpha antibody NBP2-32123 used for IP at 6 ug/mg lysate. HNF1-alpha was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-HNF1-alpha antibodies NBP2-32124, NBP2-32125, NBP2-32126. For blotting immunoprecipitated HNF1-alpha, NBP2-32125 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Background: HNF1

HNF1 is a transcription factor required for the expression of several liver-specific genes. The protein functions as a homodimer and binds to the inverted palindrome 5'-GTTAATNATTAAC-3'. Defects in this gene are a cause of maturity onset diabetes of the young type 3 (MODY3) and also can result in the appearance of hepatic adenomas. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
