Product Specifications
Immunogen
This antibody was raised by immunizing Balb/c mice with a 90 kDa MBP/Catenin alpha 1 fusion protein purified on an amylose column. (Uniprot# P35221)
Specificity
This antibody recognizes Catenin alpha 1 and binds to the domain between amino acids 135-226. alpha-catenin associates with the cytoplasmic domain of a variety of plasma membrane spanning cadherins that mediate cell-cell adhesion. The association of catenins to cadherins produces a complex that is linked to the actin filament network, which seems to be of primary importance for their cell-adhesion properties.
Clonality
Monoclonal
Host
Rabbit
Isotype
IgG
Description
This chimeric rabbit antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG1 format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

Western Blot: Catenin alpha 1 Antibody (1G5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43549] -
Western Blot: Catenin alpha 1 Antibody (1G5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43549] - A431(A) (0.003ug/ml), HeLa(B) (0.03ug/ml) and MCF7(C) (0.01ug/ml) cell lysate. (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) was resolved on a SDS PAGE gel and blots were probed with NBP3-43549 before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. A primary incubation of 1h was used and protein was detected by chemiluminescence.Immunocytochemistry /Immunofluorescence: Catenin alpha 1 Antibody (1G5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43549] -
Immunocytochemistry /Immunofluorescence: Catenin alpha 1 Antibody (1G5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43549] - Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed A431 cells on Shi-fix coverslips stained with NBP3-43549 at 10 ug/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2 ug/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom NBP3-43549, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody followed by staining with Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody.Applications for Catenin alpha 1 Antibody (1G5) - Chimeric - BSA Free
