The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with Calponin 2. (Uniprot# Q99439)
Specificity
The antibody is specific for calponin protein. Calponin 2 is a thin filament-associated protein that is implicated in the regulation and modulation of smooth muscle contraction. It is capable of binding to actin, calmodulin and tropomyosin. Further, the interaction of calponin with actin inhibits the actomyosin Mg-ATPase activity.

Flow Cytometry: Calponin 2 Antibody (24H5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43575] - Paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells permeabilized with 0.5% Triton were stained with the anti-unknown specificity antibody (isotype control, black line) or NBP3-43575 (blue line) at a dilution of 1:100 for 1h at RT. After washing, the bound antibody was detected using a goat anti-rabbit IgG AlexaFluor® 488 antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 and the cells were analyzed using a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: Calponin 2 Antibody (24H5) - Chimeric - BSA Free [NBP3-43575] - Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells, permeabilized with 0.15% Triton, on coverslips stained with NBP3-43575 (1:100 dilution) for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (1:1000 dilution), showing cytoplasmic and membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show, from left-right, top-bottom, NBP3-43575, DAPI, merged channels, and an isotype control.
